Cameron Communications, the maker of Google’s popular and free Android phone app, has bought a company called Gulliver to help it build its messaging app.

The news comes amid a surge in the popularity of the Gullivers messaging app, with Google and other messaging apps reporting a whopping 25 percent spike in usage last year.

Cameron Communications says Gulleries app has more than 30 million users and a $25 million funding round.

It has already begun building out the messaging app for Android, with a goal of having it ready for the launch of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones.
